Dr. Cammarano and our team help women every day who suffer with problems that cause them pain, worry and time away from the things they want and need to do. We evaluate and treat:

Dr. Cammarano manages many gynecologic health problems with a conservative approach that lets women avoid the risk and downtime of surgery.

When surgery is necessary, Dr. Cammarano offers minimally invasive surgical techniques that can reduce postoperative pain and downtime. He is one of the only Ob/Gyns in our area who is trained and experienced with the da Vinci robot-assisted surgical system.

If a hysterectomy is needed to treat a serious condition like uterine cancer or to relieve chronic pelvic pain or abnormal bleeding, the da Vinci system may help you avoid a long (6-12 inches) incision and lengthy recovery.  The da Vinci hysterectomy uses a state-of-the-art surgical system that offers patients many benefits over other hysterectomy approaches, including:

  • Shorter hospital stay
  • Less pain
  • Faster recovery
  • Quicker return to normal activities
  • Less risk of wound infection
  • Less blood loss
  • Less scarring

Dr. Cammarano also uses the da Vinci system to perform minimally invasive myomectomy – surgical treatment of uterine fibroids (benign growths in the uterus), a common cause of heavy bleeding and pelvic pain.

Caring, experienced treatment of pelvic prolapse

Pelvic prolapse is a common women’s health problem. It occurs when the pelvic floor muscles and ligaments become weakened, causing the bladder and/or uterus to ‘fall’ from their correct positions. Pelvic prolapse can cause bladder control problems, pain and embarrassment. Fortunately, pelvic prolapse is also highly treatable.

Talk with Dr. Cammarano about your symptoms. He will listen carefully, perform a complete exam and provide you with a thorough diagnosis and treatment options. If surgery is the best choice for you, you’re in excellent hands at Reading Ob/Gyn.

Dr. Cammarano offers the Prolift procedure for repairing pelvic prolapse and restoring normal function in the pelvic organs. It is faster than traditional surgery and patients may experience less postoperative pain and a quicker recovery. Prolift can also help some women avoid hysterectomy if the uterus is not diseased. With the Prolift procedure, most patients spend one night in the hospital and are back to normal activities within 2-3 weeks.
